Modern Bacchus

This series is an homage to Caravaggio's portraits of Bacchus. The Roman god of fertility, wildlife, vines, theater and wine, representing his intoxicating and beneficial influence. Therefore, in the role of Bacchus, I saw the person closest to my heart, from whom I learned the joy of life, ease and relaxation. In my painting, he is a plant lover who focuses on keeping a sprig of vine alive, deeply concerned and contemplating it. The series is painted with a pinch of salt, following the motto of the Roman poet Horace: "Seize the day.
