A Sense of Closeness

is a series that tells the story of the bond two individuals feel towards each other. It shows one or two people in motionless poses, thinking, reading, performing daily activities. This series contains various symbols: a book, a knife, a table, a white shirt or  pomegranate fruit. By using them, I want to open a dialogue to interpret these artworks. My favorite symbol and the core of these everyday scenes is the pomegranate. It has a long history as a symbol of passion, resurrection, prosperity, abundance and fertility in different religions and cultures. All the paintings can be shown separately, but they create different and more exciting stories together or in pairs. This is a short series that includes small and medium-sized figurative oil paintings.
